NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at an election to be held in the Town of Sheridan, on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, the following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed.  All terms are for two years beginning on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election.  If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.

To approve the town tax levy to be collected in 2017 pursuant to Sec. 60.10(1)(a) of Wisconsin Statutes; 2.) To approve the total highway expenditures for 2017 pursuant to Sec. 82.03 of Wisconsin Statutes; 3.) To authorize the Town Board to hire town officers as employees of the Town and set an hourly wage pursuant to Sec. 60.10(1)(g) of Wisconsin Statutes.

STATE OF WISCONSIN
Town of Sheridan
Dunn County

The Town Board of the Town of Sheridan, Dunn County, Wisconsin, by this resolution, adopted by a majority of the town board on a roll call vote with a quorum present and voting and proper notice having been given, resolves and orders as follows:

Whereas:

  • there is no cost to the Town to participate in the Dunn County Outdoor Recreation Plan;
  • the Town does not have an Outdoor Recreation Plan itself;
  • the Town contains County Bike Routes and Town-approved ATV trails; and
  • participation may improve access to various funding sources,

Therefore:

The Town of Sheridan resolves to participate in the Dunn County Outdoor Recreation Plan, as revised in 2016.

The town clerk shall properly post or publish this resolution as required under s. 60.80, Wis. stats.

Absentee Voting

TOWN OF SHERIDAN – NOTICE RELATED TO NOVEMBER 8, 2016 ELECTION

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot.  A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 10 consecutive days before the election.  The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot.  Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.

You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing.

Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both.  You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter.  Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.  You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail, email or in person.

The deadline for making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is:

5 pm on the fifth day before the election, November 3, 2016.

Note:    Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror.  If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
